From God to Me #1

Being a neurodiverse creative type, my brain is often like an exploding firework, full of ideas then overwhelmed by the options, with the energy dissipating almost as rapidly as it emerged (this can be a Gemini thing too – so I may have a double helping).I
There are multiple directions I could go with my writing, my career, my retirement….the list goes on.
Sometimes, despite my best intentions and enthusiastic beginnings, I don’t finish what I start…..anyone relate? Of course, there’s the aging factor thrown into the mix too, although that reasoning is one I resist. I believe if you continually espouse the “getting older” mantra you’re inviting all sorts of ills and increasing the likelihood of a quicker demise.
All this blabber to justify my undisciplined-ness of not blogging much and now faced with a multitude of options regarding WHAT to actually write about. It’s not that I don’t have any ideas….it’s that I have too many!
On reading through some of my spontaneous ramblings in my collaged “Word Bank” book, I noticed a pattern in some of them, similar to a prayer, and at the risk of sounding grandiose, realised that some are actually God, the Universe, my Higher-Self talking to me, instructing me where to go, what to do and how to be. Perhaps the words may be a catalyst for your soul too.
So, whilst a previous series of blogs is incomplete (the Mental and Emotional Warrant of Fitness series), my energy has shifted. That’s probably forest life for you….another topic I could easily blog about.
Following is the first of a collection of recent poems, reflecting my attempts to make sense of my world and capture some sparks from my firework brain.
Narrow it down
Narrow it down
Use the time you have left
Do what you love the most
BE with the ones you love most.
Say the “I love you” ’s
Make amends
Humble yourself
Be real
Vulnerable
Skip barefoot amongst the daisies
Be in awe at the wonder of life
Be open to love
Trust yourself
Don’t just live
Be ALIVE
Every moment counts
Every person counts
Every creature counts.
No dress rehearsals.
We hold the Divine Light within us
Let it shine
Don’t let it be dimmed
By childhood shackles
We ALL have them
Do your healing work
The world needs your true essence.
Distill your time and efforts
Narrow it down
Narrow it down
To love.
